After last weeks performance against the same opposition we were hoping for a better performance today, regardless of the result, we knew we were better than we showed last time out against Tingley.

We actually started this week different to most and were 1-0 down in the early stages of the game, something we aren't used to. The response was fantastic and one minute after their goal, we win a free kick around 20 or so yards out. From this kind of distance Louis has always been our 'go to' but just never seemed to find the net. Not on this occasion, he rifled the ball over the goalkeeper and got us back in the game at 1-1. Two minutes later we win a free kick around the same distance from goal and unsurprisingly, Louis stepped up again and had the same outcome ! two from two free kicks and we take the lead !. On Friday we had a team bonding session at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium watching Leeds Rhinos V Huddersfield Giants Women. The Women came out on top and after each score the music started and our team danced like nobody was watching !. It was at this time Joseph vowed that the next time he scored he would bust the same moves as he showed that night, to which I told him "You have to score first" determined to show off his moves, Joseph burst forward against Tingley, weaving in and out of the defensive efforts and finished with aplomb and the dancing ensued !. Fair play to Jojo for keeping his word, still not sure about the moves though !. Late into the first half Junior got himself on the team sheet with some fine pressing and his efforts were rewarded with a goal. The last kick of the half was a drop ball to Tingley who hit the ball on the half volley and beyond our goalie to grab a goal back just before the break.

We didn't allow Tingley to get a foothold back in the game, despite their goal just before half time. Kylan is known for his relentless pressing and hounding defenders and more often than not, he gets his reward. This game was no different and he won the ball back and finished excellently past the Tingley goalkeeper. We then scored three goals in as many minutes as Junior got another and Kylan scored twice, his second saw him slide onto a loose pass form the Tingley defence to poke the ball home, and give us a little bit of breathing space, something we aren't used to too much this season !. Junior and Kylan's link up play for each others goals was a joy to watch, making the game look simple and playing with a confidence and freedom that we know they are capable of, incredible performance by these two. Not much has been said of the defence as it was a day of goals for us. However Javan carried the ball forward and picked our some excellent passes as well as shielding and defending our box valiantly, Jess mopped up everything that came her way and Louis was organised and showed us that he can score goals just as well as he can defend ours, he too had a magnificent game. The game was rounded off by a shot rifled into the roof of the net by Layton who had a few chances before his goal to get on the scoresheet. However it was his tenacity to win the ball back and his confidence when taking us forward that really impressed, by far his best game in a Kirkstall shirt. What a way to end the season at home with one of our best ever performances.
